Mary "Polli" Evans

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner,
MSN, PMHNP

Pronouns:  she/her/hers

Hello! My name is Polli. I am a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who provides medication management. I am a proponent of collaborative, patient-centered, integrative care, and I believe that the input of my patients is important and necessary in their own treatment. I am an artist at heart and I love to draw, paint, write, sing, and create beautiful new things out of old worn out items.

I have been working in the psychiatric field for 20 years and have experience in helping people manage their struggles with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, ADHD, and more. I have experience working with folks who identify as neurodivergent and am an ally for the LGBTQ+ community.

With me, you can trust you’re being heard and that we’re working together to meet your needs. My standard appointments are longer than typical, in order to have plenty of time together to build trust, ask/answer questions, and make a collaborative plan. I look forward to getting to know you and working together to meet your mental health goals.

Please Note: I provide only medication management at this time via telehealth. I am not providing ongoing therapy. If you are interested in mental health therapy, please contact us to schedule an appointment with our therapist. Thanks!

Hi there! First off, thank you. Thank you for taking the first steps to healing. It is an incredibly big and scary decision, but I’m glad you’re here. My main goal is to guide you in managing your medications that may help in your healing process. I use research and evidence-based practices to assist in choosing the best regimen for you but ultimately, you know your body best. As your provider, I will actively listen to your concerns without any judgment and work on a holistic treatment plan with you.

As a nurse during the COVID-19 pandemic, I was fortunate to work on hospital units including medical/surgery, cardiac, COVID specific units, and ICU step-down. Working with these populations allowed me to see the growing need for mental health support in our community. I then pursued my Masters degree from the University of Pennsylvania and became board-certified  as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with the hopes of decreasing the mental health stigma.

I would be honored to support you on your mental health journey. Please reach out with any questions!

Please Note: I provide only medication management at this time via telehealth. I am not providing ongoing therapy. If you are interested in mental health therapy, please contact us to schedule an appointment with our therapist. Thanks!

Goodness can life be hard! While knowing that each of us experience difficulties in different ways throughout our lives, a few things that I believe can buffer some of life’s challenges include kindness, relationship, and self-care. I am glad that you are here seeking support, and I would be honored to be a part of your support system if that feels helpful. My primary role is to discuss and prescribe medications that may support you physiologically and therefore emotionally. The decision is yours as to whether this approach feels helpful in your course of treatment. It would be a privilege to walk alongside you.

A little bit about my professional background:

I worked as a RN for 21 years prior to completing my Master of Science in Nursing program through the University of Colorado. As a RN, I worked in a variety of community health and psychiatric settings (both inpatient and outpatient), including employment at Childrens Hospital Colorado, Aurora Public Schools, a non-profit providing in-home visits to pregnant/newly parenting moms, and as a hospice assessment nurse. One of my favorite employment experiences was serving as nursing faculty at a local university. Being an educator was incredibly life-giving and meaningful for me. In 2006, I obtained my Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology, which has added additional expertise to my work as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.

I am passionate about social justice, issues of equity, and advocating for minority, underserved populations. People know me to be warm, kind, and compassionate, qualities that are incredibly important to me in my work and relationships. It would be an honor to support you. Please reach out with any questions.

Please Note: I provide only medication management at this time via telehealth. I am not providing ongoing therapy. If you are interested in mental health therapy, please contact us to schedule an appointment with our therapist. Thanks!

Mental Health Therapist, MFTC

I offer individual, relationship, and family therapy. I have experience working with adolescents, adults, parents, and relationships. I work from an anti-racist, anti-colonial, sex-positive, health at every size, poly, queer, and trans-affirming perspective. I believe in the power of community and safety. I believe that telling our story allows us to explore our values, connect with our emotions, create meaning, and get a deeper understanding of “self”, to create connection and healing.

Poly-Affirming: No matter your ENM structure, we can work together to identify conflict cycles, develop healthy boundaries, and create secure connections.

Neuro Diverse -Affirming: My approach consists of working with your brain instead of against it. When working with families I believe in deepening everyone’s understanding of each other to create space for healing

I want to work collaboratively and transparently with you so that we can create space to deconstruct the colonized ideologies that keep us feeling limited. I hope in our time together we can build deep and meaningful connections that create stronger relationships with ourselves and others.
